I love the smell of new books!

Today while I was enjoying my lunch in the breakroom I got a call from "Private Caller". I answered with my mouth full, thinking it was my mom, because who else would call me from a private line? I was already at work so it couldn't be work calling. It turned out to be the library. The lady told me that the book that I put on hold was available. I was dumbstruck. I didn't remember putting a book on hold. I asked her what book it was and it turned out to be Dreaming in Hindi! I wanted to read this since summer but the library didn't have it because it's quite new. I put in a request and I guess they decided to buy it! I'm so excited! I can't wait to read it! I have been wanting a much needed break from Jodi Picoult books. I love her books but I'm in the mood for something different. Tomorrow after work I'm gunna go pick it up!

“Katherine Russell Rich's new book, Dreaming in Hindi: Coming Awake in Another Language, is a riveting memoir about an American woman who spends a year in Rajasthan learning Hindi. The book illuminates the truth that when we learn a language, we learn an entire culture. One of the best foreign observers of contemporary India, Rich's gaze on the country is witty, empathetic, and intimate.”
—Suketu Mehta, author of Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found
